Policies

Payment Policy

Lessons are charged bi-weekly after the lessons are completed. There is no-prepaying. You will receive an invoice through email every two weeks for the lessons you have already taken. With each invoice, there is a due date (5 days after the invoice was sent). Any invoice paid late will be charged a $10 late fee. If you feel there is an error on your invoice, please contact us.

Yearly Rate Increases

There is a small annual rate increase each January to account for inflation/cost of living increases. This is usually a 3% increase. If the rate is to be increased by more than 5%, notifications will be sent out 30 days prior.

Contracts

There are no long-term contracts or commitments. You can cancel at anytime and are not locked into anything.

Discontinuing Lessons

Please notify us that you wish to discontinue lessons. Two weeks’ notice is appreciated, but not mandatory.

Cancellation Policies

Please always contact your teacher if you need to cancel a lesson.

Please review the below cancellation situations:

-Same-Day Cancellations: Cancellations made by the student on the day of the lesson will be charged. This includes summer, holidays, and breaks. Exceptions are made for medical reasons or family emergencies. The best way to avoid Same-Day Cancellations is to communicate ahead of time with your instructor.

-One Free Cancellation Per Month: We get it, life happens, and you may need to cancel from time to time. A student may cancel once per month, so long as it is not a Same-Day Cancellation. Any additional cancellations that month will be charged. This policy does not apply to summer break or major federal holidays (see below).

-Summer/Winter Break & Holiday Cancellations: We understand that a lot of our families make plans and travel over summer break (May 25-August 6), winter break (December 15-January 4), and other major federal holidays (New Year’s, Easter Break, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Break, and Christmas Break). Please communicate with your instructor ahead of time, and these cancellations will not be charged, and will not count towards the One Free Cancellation Per Month policy. However, if you cancel on the same day of the scheduled lesson, it will still be charged.

-Weather Cancellations: If there is inclement weather, please contact your instructor to confirm whether or not you are proceeding with your lesson. Harmony Home does not follow school closings, so do not assume your lesson will be cancelled. Weather Cancellations will not be charged as long as they are clearly communicated with your instructor.

-Instructor Cancellations: In the event that an instructor cancels, the lesson will not be charged. However, please contact Harmony Home if your instructor cancels frequently.

-Makeups: Makeup lessons for a cancelled lesson can be made at the discretion of the instructor.

-Special Considerations: If a student requires a leave of absence due to broken bones, long-term illnesses, etc., please contact Harmony Home as well as your instructor, so that we can best accommodate this.

-Additional note: We have these policies in place because many of our instructors rely on the income from these lessons. Please comply with the above policies out of respect for our instructors, and do not ask for them to make exceptions. Thank you!

Underage Student Policy

Lessons with Minor (17 years old or younger):

A Parent, Guardian, Nanny, or Sibling (at least 18 years old) or other adult (authorized by the parent) must be home for a lesson to take place. Any lessons that do not have an appropriate party in the home will be cancelled and charged as a Same Day Cancellation.
