Payment Policy

Tuition is based on 46 lessons a year, that is paid in equal monthly installments. This allows for consistent monthly billing so you never have to worry about paying more for months that have 5 weeks. Because the annual tuition rate also accounts for breaks and holidays, we do not offer make-up lessons, prorated tuition, or refunds for lessons that fall on or during the dates listed under the Holiday Closure Schedule. Each invoice will be issued on the first of the month, and your card on file will be automatically charged. With each invoice, there is a due date (5 days after the invoice was sent). Any invoice paid late will be charged a $10 late fee. If you feel there is an error on your invoice, please contact us.

Registration Fee

Upon enrollment for lessons, a $25 registration fee is required to secure the student’s lesson date, time, and instructor. The first month’s tuition payment must be made once a lesson time is agreed upon between the instructor and then student. If the first lesson occurs after the first week of the month, the first payment will be prorated. It’s important to note that registration fees are non-refundable following enrollment.

First Lesson Guarantee

If you don’t think we’re a good fit for you after your first lesson, let us know and you will be refunded for your lesson along with your first month payment. If it’s not a good fit, you won’t pay for it.

Cancellation Policies

In case a scheduled lesson needs to be missed, the student or parent must notify their instructor or Harmony Home Music at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson in order to be eligible for a make-up lesson, subject to instructor availability. Make-up lessons are limited to one per month.

Make-Ups

If a student cancels a lesson with at least 24 hour’s notice, they can receive up to one make-up credit each month.

If you need to miss a scheduled lesson, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance to qualify for a make-up. Each student is eligible for one make-up lesson per month.

Please note that make-up lessons are not provided for cancellations according to our Holiday Closure Schedule.

Instructor Cancellations

In the event that an instructor cancels, contact Harmony Home Music and a makeup lesson will be offered or a credit will be applied to your next invoice. Please contact Harmony Home if your instructor cancels frequently. In the event that your instructor is unavailable for an extended amount of time (i.e. going on tour), you will not be charged for that amount of time and receive prorated tuition.

Weather Cancellations

If there is inclement weather, please contact your instructor to confirm whether or not you are proceeding with your lesson. Harmony Home does not follow school closings, so do not assume your lesson will be cancelled. Weather Cancellations will be offered as a makeup lesson as long as they are clearly communicated with your instructor.

Discontinuing Lessons

Students/parents must submit a written request to info@harmonyhomemusic.com by the 15th of the month before the next billing cycle, otherwise you will be charged tuition for the following month (i.e. to end your membership by January 1st, all cancellation requests must be turned in by December 15th). Withdrawal requests made after the 15th will incur charges for the following month without exception.

Students can finish the current lesson cycle, but any missed lessons after cancelling will not be refunded or credited.

Any unused make-up credits will be forfeited.

Underage Student Policy

Lessons with Minor (17 years old or younger):

A Parent, Guardian, Nanny, or Sibling (at least 18 years old) or other adult (authorized by the parent) must be home for a lesson to take place.  Any lessons that do not have an appropriate party in the home will be cancelled and charged as a Same Day Cancellation.

Lesson Hold Policy

Should a student need to take a break from lessons, we offer a temporary hold option for up to 60 days. Going on hold rather than withdrawing has several benefits including securing your day/time/mentor and no new registration fee upon return. Holds must adhere to the following:

Hold requests must be submitted by contacting Harmony Home via email (info@harmonyhomemusic.com) 15 days prior to the next billing due date.

Lesson Holds are permitted for 30 or 60 days. Holds may not exceed the 60-day limit.

Hold periods begin on your next billing due date. At the start of the hold period, you will be charged 60% of your monthly tuition for the full 30 or 60 days.

Students may keep up to 2 lessons per month on the schedule per 30 days for the duration of your hold in your normal day and time.

Tuition will automatically return to the full rate at the end of the hold period, and lessons will return to the usual weekly frequency.

Yearly Rate Increases
