Music Lessons For Kids and Adults
Music Lessons For Kids
Young students often need more than just notes on a page to stay engaged. That’s why our instructors bring energy and creativity into every lesson. We help kids explore their musical interests, try different instruments if they’re still deciding, and build strong listening skills alongside note reading. Lessons often include rhythm games, melody-building exercises, and age-appropriate music theory. If your child is just beginning, we start with the basics in a fun and approachable way. If they’ve already had lessons elsewhere, we can pick up where they left off. The goal is to set them up with skills that last a lifetime.
Music Lessons For Adults
Our adult students come from all walks of life. Some are returning to an instrument after years away. Others are picking one up for the first time. We work with each student to build a plan based on their musical interests. Want to learn jazz piano? Curious about writing your own songs? Hoping to confidently sing in front of others? We can help. We also support adults preparing for specific programs or auditions; whether that’s for a worship team, community band, or a summer music retreat. We make lessons enjoyable and useful, with no pressure and plenty of encouragement.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
— Colossians 3:16
Play the Instrument of Your Choice at an Advanced Level
We meet each student where they are. Whether you’re learning your first chord or preparing for a college audition, our teachers adapt to your level. Technique, music theory, composition, improvisation are all areas we cover depending on your interests. We offer private lessons on a range of instruments and can even help you grow as a songwriter or composer. For those with previous training, our instructors help refine technique and develop a more expressive, confident sound. And if you simply want to make music for fun, that’s always welcome too.
Piano and Strings
Piano is one of the most versatile instruments to learn. From classical pieces to modern styles, our piano students build both technical skills and expressive playing. We also offer instruction in violin and other string instruments. Students will gain fluency in music reading, tone production, posture, and musicianship, with room to explore both solo and ensemble-style playing.
Voice and Guitar
Whether you want to improve your singing voice or learn to strum and fingerpick with confidence, we’ve got you covered. Our voice instructors help students build breath control, tone, and musicality across genres. Guitar lessons include both acoustic and electric styles. We teach chords, reading tabs and notation, and even how to accompany yourself while singing or playing in a group.
Drums, Woodwinds and Sax
Percussion and wind instruments offer a different kind of musical experience. Drum students work on timing, coordination, and technique using practice pads or full kits. Saxophone and woodwind students will learn embouchure, fingerings, and tone development through accessible exercises and pieces they enjoy. These lessons are tailored to the student’s level, whether that means learning basic rhythms or preparing for jazz ensemble.

FAQs Regarding Our Music Lessons in Nashville
How Safe and Qualified are Your Teachers?
All of our instructors go through an interview and background check process before joining Harmony Home Music. They are not only experienced musicians and teachers but also individuals we’d feel comfortable inviting into our own home. We value kindness, professionalism, and a love of teaching.
Will I Be Required to Compete or Participate in Recitals?
Recitals are entirely optional. We host them twice a year at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Nashville, and they are a fun way for students to share what they’ve learned. Some students enjoy performing in front of an audience, while others prefer to keep things private. You’ll never be required to perform unless you want to.
Can I Meet Other Students?
Yes! While most lessons are one-on-one, we also offer group classes through Vine Christian Academy, a homeschool co-op in Williamson County. These small group sessions give students a chance to learn with others, build musical friendships, and grow in a supportive setting.
Do You Have Beginner and Advanced Music Lessons?
We teach students at all stages. Some come to us never having touched an instrument. Others are already performing in ensembles or preparing for auditions. No matter your level, we match you with a teacher who can help you move forward and enjoy the process.
Can I Learn to Play Different Genres?
Absolutely. From pop and classical to jazz and worship music, we offer instruction across a wide variety of genres. During your consultation call, we’ll ask about your musical interests so we can pair you with the right teacher. We love helping students find music that inspires them.
